Family Fun Mini-Golf

Back in mid-June, we went to a pretty awesome, one-of-a-kind mini-golf course here in Northern Virginia.  You've never played mini-golf until you've gone to Perils of the Lost Jungle at Woody's Golf Range in Herndon, VA.

When you think of awesome mini-golf course, what do you think of?  The beach?  I've been to some pretty cool looking courses down in Myrtle Beach, but this one is even better and it's just a few miles down the road from us!

You're probably wondering why it's a one-of-a-kind course, huh?  Well, it's filled with animatronics that are so real, you feel like you're at a Disney theme park.  Actually, there was one hole that the gorilla that popped through the window scared my mom half to death it was that convincing.

The 18 hole course is a fairly simple one, but with all the animatronics, smoke machines, lighting, and sound effects, you feel as though you're on a journey with Indiana Jones himself.  You never know what "danger" lies ahead of you!  Or if a big giant gorilla is going to eat you, right Mom?!?

This was Michael's first real mini-golf course experience and he had a blast.  We tried to teach him the rules and techniques of playing the game, but he ended up doing it Michael's way.

We all had a great time.  The weather was great, not too hot.  I think even if it was a hot day out, it still wouldn't be too bad because of the amount of trees they have all around the course, you're pretty well shaded.  You're probably thinking that this place is expensive with all the special effects, but it's rather reasonable (click here to see their current prices and discounts).

When you walk in, you're greeted with the empty cage where you can have the kids or even your big kids step into for an awesome photo opp.  They have many different sizes of clubs as well as many different colors of balls to work with.  Definitely a fun places to go for some fun family time.  I'm certain that we'll be recommending to go there whenever we have company over again.  Actually, I think a fun family night is in store here soon.  What do you look for in a mini-golf course?  Have you been to the Perils of the Lost Jungle?
