Baby's First Easter

baby's first Easter, what to put in baby's first Easter basket, Easter basket ideas for babies, Easter basket ideas, Easter with baby, Easter,
Michael was 10 months old for his first Easter and I remember wondering what I would do for an Easter basket.  We hadn't introduced him to chocolate and had no plans to start.  Here's what we ended up doing as well as some other great ideas to work with.

I already had the plastic eggs and grass from when I had made an Easter basket for Jon many years before, but no basket.  So, before thinking about what to put in the eggs and basket there needed to be a basket.  I ended up finding what I was looking for at AC Moore.  I have since found better baskets, but have decided to wait until we have another baby to upgrade Michael's basket.

Instead of the usual chocolates that are normally put in the eggs, We filled them with the yogurt melts, puffs, and cheese puffs that Michael was eating as snacks.  So nothing new needed to be bought - had everything on hand.  I bought three Easter books (one being a read along book), three bath books, a Little Person's Easter toy, some bath toys, and I forget what the other toys were.  The bunny and chicky were stuffed animals that were mine.

It was helpful that I had most of the items on hand already.  That way it didn't break the bank.  Here are some other ideas that I've found via Amazon that might just do the trick.

Tomy Hide and Squeak Eggs -  They look like a lot of fun and can be educational as well.  They recommend these for 6 - 12 months.

Guess How Much I Love You Activity Toy - What baby wouldn't love having this to play with and it has a hook to hang on the carrier for when you go on trips.  Looks like you could do a whole cute basket in this theme with other Guess How Much I Love items.

My First Easter Basket - Perfect for those busy parents.  A nice soft basket with soft Easter themed stuffed animals.

Luke4deals Musical Duck - He waddles, rolls, lights up, and plays music.

Don't forget the cute little Easter/Spring outfits that are out there.  The outfit that Michael wore was bought at a consignment store.  Don't forget to check out consignment stores/sales for some great gifts that have been hardly used.  Hope this helps give you some ideas on how to make a baby friendly basket for your little one.  What would you add to the basket?
