Do you have children who love VeggieTales?  Do you love VeggieTales?  I'll admit that I probably love VeggieTales more than Michael.  I mean, I did name my first car the Junior mobile after Junior Asparagus.  Oh, and had Junior hanging from my rear view mirror.  Because of our combined love for VeggieTales when I was looking for a family devotional last year, I was hoping to find one from them.  Unfortunately, the Family Christian Store I was out was completely out.

I ended up purchasing a different devotional and then a few months later had the opportunity to review another devotional for kids, Picking out a Devotional for Kids.  I'm happy to tell you that VeggieTales has updated their Every Day With God daily devotional that's for boys or girls.

I actually really like this devotional.  Michael asks to read it every night before bedtime and sits there with his Bob and Larry stuffed animals while I read that day's devotional.  Sometimes he'll even tell me, in his own words, what the devotional was about afterwards.  Such a simple devotional that I think Michael would have been able to understand this a few years ago.

  1. What a cute book. My husband and I love Veggie Tales. I always look for a devotional that contains "good" retellings of Bible stories and contains Scripture.

  3. The first thing I look for is that it stays true to the Bible. I also look for devotionals that have short entries. My boys are young, so they can't sit through anything that long, and I don't want to lose their attention. :)

  4. I want a devotional for my girls that is trustworthy and rings true of our beliefs. Next I want it to be easy to comprehend for their ages. Lastly, I want it to be fun and memorable and one that they will get joy from.

  10. I look for a devotional that is age appropriate and it comes from the Bible and teaches what is taught in the Bible. For my Grandchildren I want to make sure they can take something from what they read and after reading it enough will remember and apply to their lives. I also make sure that when ever I give them a devotional, I work hard to read it with them and help explain what it means. Of course they are still young.

    1. I hear ya. We do explain things further with this devotional just to make sure our son understands. He seems to be getting the messages and enjoys us reading this to him at bedtime.

    1. The story lines are rather easy to understand, but not much of imagery on the pages. Just a VeggieTale character on each page.
