Meal Plan and Grocery Trip - September 19th - 25th

We did have a plan for our meals last week, but when a cold hits your family meal plans go out the window.  Here's what we had planned for dinners last week:

  1. Pizza
  2. Hot Dogs
  3. Cheese Steaks
  4. Spaghetti
  5. Chicken Alfredo
I ended up doing our grocery shopping while Michael was taking his nap and Jon was at the house working on stuff.  Here's the list that I had for Wal-mart:
  • Tide to go pen  $2.94
  • loaf of whole bread  $1.58
  • Clorox wipes  $4.63
  • headache medicine  $0.94
  • toilet cleaning gel  $3.97 x 2 = $7.94
  • butter  $4.98
  • toothpaste for Michael  $2.50
  • Alfredo sauce  $1.88
  • pizza sauce  $0.98
  • pizza blend cheese  $2.48
  • vitamins for Michael  $4.27
I also had two coupons that I got from Inbox Dollars.
The total spent at Walmart was $35.61.  Off to Wegmans I went.  Here's the list that I had for Wegmans:
  • gallon of whole milk  $3.49
  • OJ  $2.49
  • apple juice  $5.49
  • peanut butter  $2.79
  • potato chips  2/$4.00
  • pizza dough  $2.49
  • pepperoni  $2.79
I ended up spending $23.82 at Wegmans.  Our normal weekly budget is $50, but we had $11.20 carried over from the previous week.  That made the weekly budget to be $61.20.

The grand total spent was $59.43, making us $1.77 under budget!  I also saved a total of $1.15 with the coupons and will earn $0.10 for each through Inbox Dollars.  I earned $1.00 for the butter and $0.25 for the milk purchases through Ibotta and $2.00 for the toilet cleaning gels through Shopmium.  I also scanned my Walmart receipt with their new savings catcher app.  I ended up receiving $1.27 back on an e-gift card because 4 of the items were on sell cheaper at other local stores!
