Hollywood Studios 2014

Our third day of our Walt Disney World vacation back in December was at Hollywood Studios.  Since most of the park was shut down, we did more character meetups than rides.  Even with that being  said, we still ended up having to come back another night to ride some rides and still didn't ride everything.

The first thing we did was get our picture in front of the scorer hat which is no longer there.

After having some family pictures taken in front of the icons of Hollywood Studios, we went to Pixar Place to see what the wait time was for Toy Story Midway Mania.

The line was a little too long since we had breakfast reservations at Hollywood & Vine, you can read more about our reservation by reading my post Disney Junior Play 'n Dine Character Meal.  We ended up getting in line to meet Buzz and Woody.  The line was pretty long, but Disney has tried to make it as enjoyable as possible.  They have many different photo places where the kids, or in our case our big kids, can pose while Mom and Dad take pictures.  It also tells the story of all three Toy Story movies.

Finally got to meet Buzz and Woody.  It was like we were standing on Andy's bed.  The wait was just long enough that we had to go straight to our breakfast reservation.

We decided to let Michael do some running at the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure.  He had a blast and even Mommy and Daddy got in on the playtime.  I remember playing on this very same set when I was younger.  We actually have a picture of my brother and I on this very same ant!

We found Mike and Sully, they were kind of hidden.  For those of you who have kids who'll want to get the character's autographs, Mike and Sully do not sign.

Found Lightning McQueen and Mater.  Just listen for the revving motors.  Like Mike and Sully, Lightning and Mater do not sign.

Met Phineas and Ferb.  Make sure that if you use the pictures that we did for autographs that the names match the character pictures.  The ones for Phineas and Ferb were switched and they let us know that. (To learn more about the autograph pages, read my post Making your own Disney autograph book.)

Since we went at the beginning of December, Big Hero Six had just come out a few weeks before hand.  We had actually watched the movie before we left on our trip not knowing we would meet any of the characters from the movie.  Looks like Baymax and Hiro are no longer at Hollywood Studios, but the wait time for us was 2 hours!  Yes, we stood in line that long and went through 2 breaks for the characters.

We met Mr. Incredible and Frozone.  Michael was so excited to meet them since it's one of his favorite movies.

We watched Disney Junior - Live on Stage! and Michael enjoyed it.  They brought all his favorite Disney Junior shows together in one awesome show.

I was really surprised that Michael wanted to watch the Voyage of The Little Mermaid

Went back to Toy Story Midway Mania.  An awesome ride!  If the wait time was shorter, I'm sure we would have rode it a few more times.  We all had so much fun on it.

We had dinner at Pizza Planet because I thought Michael would love eating there since he loves Toy Story.

We then booked it so we could get a seat for Fantasmic!.  Michael sat as long as he could.  I had given him some glow in the dark wands to help keep him preoccupied.

Since we were there during Christmas, we were able to experience The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights.  It was pretty crowded and kind of hard to walk through with a stroller.  Michael had actually fallen asleep while we were walking through.

On our way out, we ran across the final Jedi Training Academy for the night.  It was so awesome to see all those kids fighting Darth Vader and becoming a Jedi.  If they offered this for adults, I'm certain that Jon would do this.  We shall see if Michael would like to do this the next time that we go.

Like I said earlier, we came back another night to try and finish up the park.  We decided to head back to Hollywood Studios after a day at Animal Kingdom.

We came back to meet Sorcerer Mickey.  Michael was so happy to meet Mickey.  Look at that smile!

We had dinner that night at Backlot Express.

We went and road The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.  Michael was good until he watched the video before getting on the ride.  He was so scared that we all were going to disappear.  The cast member helping us on the ride gave him a sticker and the other people riding the ride with us tried to convince him that everything would be fine.  After the ride was over, they cheered for Michael.  Still to this day, he talks about this one ride at Disney World.

The last ride was Star Tours and Michael was a little scared to get on it, but he had a good time.

What are your favorite things to do at Hollywood Studios?  I know that I would love to be there to participate in Star Wars Weekends.
