Still keeping it under budget - Meal plans and Grocery Trip for May 29th thru June 4th

meal plans, $50 weekly grocery budget,
After a week of not hardly being home, we're back and have a plan of attack!  Here's what I'm planning for dinner this week:
  1. Pizza Casserole
  2. Spaghetti
  3. Pork Chops
  4. Chicken Patties
  5. Lasagna
Since we were gone a good portion of last week, Jon decided to work on Friday which is normally our grocery run day.  We did the shopping on Sunday instead.  Our first stop was Walmart.  Here's the list:
  • mozzarella shredded cheese  $2.48
  • gallon distilled water  $0.88
  • hamburger buns  $1.28
  • hotdog buns  $1.28
  • precooked fajita style chicken breasts  $5.98
  • rinse aid  $8.97
  • shaving cream  $2.97
  • toilet cleaning gel  $11.97
We spent $37.00 at Walmart.  We went next door to Sam's to get a few items that we needed.  Here's the list:
  • 3 pk of ketchup  $7.78
  • 3lbs of hotdogs  $7.98 on sale for $6.73
I always like to have hotdogs in the freezer, especially during the Summer months and we go through ketchup like it's water.  We spent $14.90 at Sam's.  It was off to Wegmans.

The trip at Wegmans was pretty fast since our list was rather short.  Here's what we had to work with:
  • applesauce  $2.19
  • dozen eggs  $1.99
  • family pk of hamburger  $18.96
  • half gallon whole milk  $2.29
  • onion  $0.83
  • OJ  $2.49
We spent $29.98 at Wegmans.  As I said earlier, we weren't home for most of last week so we still had last week's $50 to work with.  That being said, the budget for this week was $100.  We spent a grand total of $81.88, making us under budget by $18.12.  I also earned $0.30 for the eggs, $0.30 for the OJ, and $0.20 for the shredded cheese all through Ibotta.
