Gingerbread House Alternative

make an edible Christmas tree as an easy alternative to a gingerbread house, Christmas fun with kids,
I have never made gingerbread houses for Christmas growing up and was really wanting to do one this year with Michael.  After I thought about it, I realized that Michael might still be a little too young to make a gingerbread house with.  So, I found something a little more Michael or toddler friendly - an edible Christmas tree.

We did this Christmas Eve night before heading to bed.  Michael seemed to have fun with it and that's all that matters.

I bought Keebler sugar cones, but really wanted something bigger.  They did the trick though.  Got frosting that was already green (thank you Pillsbury!) and bought candy to use as "ornaments".  I bought peanut M&Ms by accident.  Plain M&Ms would have worked better.  At our grocery store they had candy that were snowmen and trees.  I didn't want to have anything really big like you would on a gingerbread house since the tree was rather small.  Hope this gives you an idea of something fun to do with your kids next year for Christmas!
