Even though Thanksgiving hasn't quite come, seems like Christmas is in the air. With all the lifestyle YouTubers posting their Christmas decorate with me videos over the past few weeks, maybe we should just embrace it?
Last year for Halloween Michael wanted to be Sorcerer Mickey and we looked everywhere locally to find the costume with no luck. When we decided that we were going to be able to go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World I knew I had to try and make this costume happen. Here's how we went about making this costume.
Last week Jon turned the big 4-0! I had been asking for a few months on what he wanted to do to celebrate and he finally told me a few weeks before his birthday. We ended up trying out TopGolf.
So, February was not a very good month when it came to meal planning and sticking to it. March turned out to a little bit better. Here's what was planned for dinners during the month of March.
Making tacos is one of those quick and simple meals that can be made on one of your family's busy nights. Did you also know that making your own taco seasoning will be cheaper and healthier in the long run? No need to buy those taco kits anymore.
Another month into the new year and we are still trying to stick to our dinner meal plans as best as we can. Here's what we had planned for dinners during the month of February.
One month down to the new year and one month done with trying to stick to our dinner meal plans for the month. Even though we've been planning dinners out for a full year, we still have months that just don't pan out and that's ok. Sometimes life happens and you just have to roll with it. Here's the dinner plans for January.
Happy New Year! We went pretty much the whole year sticking to the monthly meal plans. It has helped us out so much financially and by making us eat healthier meals than what we would if we ate out all the time. Here's our meal plan for the last month of 2018.
All most to the end of the year and still going strong with staying with our monthly dinner meal plans. November and December are probably the months were most families fall off the sticking to a meal plan wagon with all the different holiday events going on. We have actually been doing well with sticking to the plan. Here's our dinner meal plans for November.
We are on our 6th year of doing this Christmas countdown. It really has become a fun family tradition. Hopefully this year Michael will start reading the books on his own.
This will be the third year of us watching Christmas movies as a Christmas countdown. Over the years I have collected well over 24 Christmas movies and the collection is ever growing. That's what happens when you and your kid love Christmas! This will most definitely be a family tradition that my son will carry on with him.
Ever since we started this journey of financial freedom we're on, we've been cooking meals at home. After awhile you start to get sick of eating the same meals over and over again. With that in mind, I took to Pinterest to find something new to make that even my picky eaters would eat. Being mostly made in the crock pot/slow cooker was just an added bonus.
Meatloaf is one of those meals that brings me back to my childhood. Since it was my dad's favorite meal and a rather cheap meal to make, my mom would make it frequently. Now that I'm married and a mom, I love sharing things of my childhood with my family. I hope that Michael, once he starts liking hamburger, will have fond memories like I do when eating meatloaf.
It was a long time before we broke down and got an Amazon Prime membership. Jon actually signed up to help save his grandparents a few bucks when he was build a computer for them a few years ago. We decided to keep it because of some the added benefits of having a membership. Today, Prime Day, is just one of many of those benefits. Let me tell you more of what we like as well as give you a run down of some of the deals I've found so far.
For many years I felt like a hamster in its cage, going around and around on the wheel getting nowhere. When I felt like we were getting somewhere, payday would come and I would end up being in tears after I was through. It wasn't until the beginning of this year that we decided to get some help and hired a financial coach. It was the best decision we made.
If you've ever been to any of the Disney Parks, I'm sure you've seen the Mickey shaped rice crispy treats. They are actually not that hard to make and can help cure any Disney blues you might have. I actually made them for Micheal's Mickey Mouse birthday party a few years ago as the take home treat. Here's how you can have a little Disney at anytime of the year.
This week my list was rather long at all three stores. We were running low on items and also preparing for my mom coming in to celebrate Michael's birthday. Here's the grocery haul breakdown this week.
Happy June! The year is half over with - crazy how fast it has gone by. We've gone 6 months with sticking to the dinner meal plans and it really has been helping our finances, even with increasing our grocery budget. Here's what we had for dinners for the month of May.
This week had a rather short list, mostly because I had a good bit of the items needed for meals this week. Also helps that I didn't need much household items either. Here's the breakdown for this week's grocery haul.
