Disney EGGstravaganza: Easter egg hunt around Epcot's World Showcase

One of the many fun things to do during the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is the EGGstravaganza.  We were lucky enough to be able to participate in it last year during our visit in April.

To get started on this fun egg hunt, you'll need to purchase a map.  We bought a map for each of us at one of the designated locations: Disney Trader, Pin Central, or World Traveler.

Along with your map, are stickers of the eggs that you're looking for.  Once you find an egg, you'll put the matching sticker in the egg shape for the country.

We had such a heck of a time trying to find the egg for our first country.  I knew that they would be large eggs, but had no idea how much hunting was really involved into finding them.

Since the egg hunt had been going on for several weeks, I took to my phone to see if I could get any hints on where or how to find the eggs.  As I thought, there were already several blogs giving clues or even telling you what eggs were in what country.  Since we were here to find the eggs, we went with the blog that came up with some helpful hints on where in the countries the eggs were located.  I originally thought that the eggs would be outside of the countries and would be rather easy to spot, not the case.  Disney knows what they're doing - they want people to go into each country and look around.  What better way than to have eggs hidden?  One of the most common things about the hiding of the eggs, look high.  I would say almost all were up high.

Once you've completed your map, you'll want to head over to Disney Traders to get your prize.  One thing that we did to help save on time during the hunt, was just work on one map.  We let Michael put the sticker on it for every country.  Then when we were done, Jon put the stickers on the other two maps before claiming our prize.  Now if you have more than one child, I would probably let them do their own maps during the hunt.  No need for a melt down over putting stickers on a map.  Honestly well worth the money since you get to take home the map and these adorable eggs to use year after year.

It looks like Disney is switching things up for 2018.  They will still be having the EGGstravaganza, but it will not be for the duration of Flower and Garden.  There will be a scavenger hunt that will be going on during Flower and Garden called Spike's Pollen Nation Exploration.  Looks like it's the same premise as EGGstravagation, there's a map and stickers.  Instead of looking for eggs, you're looking for Spike the honey pee as he pollinates the World Showcase.  Like the egg hunt, this costs and you will receive a prize once your map is completed.  To learn more about this new fun hunt, head over to the Disney Parks Blog.  Yet, another reason to go back to the Flower and Garden Festival.  Have you participated in the Disney EGGstravaganza at Epcot?  If so, I would love to see what eggs you picked to take home with you.  Post them on our Facebook page Gigglebox Tells it Like it is, tweet them to us @WVUGigglebox, or tag us on Instagram @wvugigglebox.
