I ended up making this Easter egg garland for a Bunny Hop at Michael's school.  Don't know what a Bunny Hop is?  Well, look for a post about that later this week.  Last year I had no idea so this year I was prepared.  Here's how I made this pretty cool looking garland that I'm sure we'll use for many Easters to come.

I bought this Snoopy Easter gift bag last year on clearance thinking I could use it for something for this year's Bunny Hop.  I ended up cutting the bottom and sides out and part of the front and back that were folded.  I decided that I would somehow get this to work with the plastic egg garland I had in mind.

I bought two packs of the plain 18 count plastic eggs and two packs of the 12 count design plastic eggs from the Dollar Tree.  Still didn't have an exact plan when I purchased them, but knew that something awesome would come out of it.

The plastic eggs actually come with two holes on either end which is awesome - no drilling required!  I will tell you though, some of the holes did have a thin layer of plastic on them so I did have to poke through some of the holes.

I used some hemp twine that I had purchased for some bird feeders that Michael and I had made a few months ago (look for a post about that soon) to string the eggs together.  You can use whatever you would like, just make sure it's strong enough to hold all the eggs.  You'll want to open the eggs so that you can easily feed the string through.  Once the string is through the egg, you can close it back up.  If you wanted to make sure the eggs won't open you could glue them shut, I felt that these eggs closed rather nicely and haven't come apart yet.

After I took this picture I decided I wasn't liking the pattern that I was going with so I changed it up.  I ended up going with two solid and then one design, but do the pattern however you want to do.  I also rotated the eggs so they were going in different directions.  After I was done with one package of the solids and half of one of the designs, I added one of the Snoopy pictures to the garland.  Did the pattern again and added the other Snoopy picture and continued the pattern.

I then triple knotted the one end of the garland and then the other.  Just make sure that the knot is bigger than the hole.

There you have the final project.  I also ended up putting the ribbon handles from the gift bag back through the holes on the Snoopy pictures.  This helped hide the string.  Now I have a nice decoration for Easter and I'll be ready for any future Bunny Hops.
