15+ Outdoor Toy Gift Ideas for Your Little Ones

list of outdoor toys for little ones, outdoor toy gift ideas for little ones,
With the weather slowly starting to turn to Spring, I thought I would share with you some of the outdoor toys that Michael has played with in the past and some he still plays with.  Ever since Michael started walking, he's been loving playing in the backyard with all the awesome toys that he's received as gifts or items that I've been able to purchase via consignment sales.  Outside play is a must so why not invest in some good toys that will last for several years.

Little Tikes Big Digger Sandbox - Michael got this for his second birthday from Jon's parents.  He loves having the dump truck and digger.  Mommy loves that the lid is pretty secure, but we do put it in our shed during the Winter months.

Little Tikes Anchors Away Pirate Ship -  Water tables are a great and lots of fun.  This is not the water table to Michael has, but he got his from Jon's parents for his first Easter.  We had so much fun that Spring and Summer going out on the deck and playing with the water table.  The Step2 Splish Splash Seas Water Table is the new version of the one Michael got.

Little Tikes Sand & Sea Play Table -  If you want a water table and sand table, but don't want two pieces taking up room in your backyard or on your deck; this would be your compromise.  Maybe something perfect to have at Grandma's house.  I also love when there's an umbrella!

Little Tikes TotSports T-Ball Set -   Pretty much anything sports related for a little boy will be a big winner.  My brother bought Michael something like this a few Christmases ago.

Little Tikes TotSports Easy Score Basketball Set - My brother bought this for Michael a few years ago for his birthday.  Uncle Chuck is really trying to get Michael into sports and has been designated as the sport toy purchaser.  I will say that this is starting to be a little small for Michael so I would recommend if you have a preschooler to purchase the Little Tikes Adjust 'n Jam Basketball Set.

Little Tikes Easy Score Soccer Set - This is actually on Michael's wishlist.  He seems to love kicking balls so why not have a net to aim for?!?

Little Tikes Garden Table -  Kids love to help out with the gardening?  Here's a way that they can pretend to garden.  I would also recommend purchasing the Little Tikes 2-in-1 Garden Cart & Wheelbarrow to have even more fun playing gardener.

Little Tikes Dirt Digger 2-in-1 Excavator -  Most kids, especially boys, love to play in the dirt.  Why not buy some awesome dirt hauling equipment?!?

Little Tikes Dirt Digger 2-in-1 Dump Truck -  Every kid needs to have a dump truck.

Little Tikes Monster Dirt Digger -  This looks pretty cool and Michael told me that he wants it added to his wishlist.

Little Tikes Get Out 'n' Grill -  Michael got this a few Christmases ago from my dad and step-mom and absolutely loves it.  We never really put it outside so he could play with it all year round.  It's part of his kitchen area in our kitchen.  I would also recommend purchasing the Little Tikes Backyard Barbecue Backyard Picnic to help make those pretend picnics even more awesome and fun.

Little Tikes Easy Store Picnic Table with Umbrella -  Can't have a pretend or even a real picnic without a picnic table.  I might actually need to upgrade to this picnic table.  Michael got the Little Tikes Easy Store Jr Play Table with Umbrella from my aunt, uncle, and grandparents for his first birthday and it's starting to get a little small for him.  We keep it out on our deck so that Michael has a table to eat on whenever we eat out on the deck.  We've also brought it to Jon's family's reunion since it is easy to fold up and toss in the trunk of the car.

Little Tikes 2-in-1 Snug 'n Secure Bundle -  My mom bought this for Michael for his first Easter.  We hung this underneath our deck.  Michael loved it so much and still wants this swing put up even though he is way to big for it.  We might end up buying him the Little Tikes Cozy Swing to put in place of this swing under the deck.

Little Tikes Clubhouse Swingset -  If we had a bigger, flatter backyard we would probably purchase something like this.  It would bring back a slide and give a swing for if a friend came over to play.

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe 30th Anniversary Edition -  Michael absolutely loves this and still plays with it even though he is getting way to big for it.  I bought this several years ago via a Facebook yardsale page.  One of the best purchases ever!  I've taken this to my mom's house to keep Michael entertained while we were there for a week.

Little Tikes Cozy Pumper -  Not too long after I purchased the Cozy Coupe, my mom purchased this pump for Michael's Easter gift.  He loves filling up his Cozy Coupe with gas.

Little Tikes Bright 'n Bold Toy Chest -  Not exactly what I bought Michael via a Facebook yardsale page, but I would recommend purchasing a plastic toy box for the backyard.  The one that we have does not have storage bins on the bottom.  This way all the little toys have a home.  Jon drilled some holes in the bottom of the chest so that any water that got in would have a way to drain out.

Step2 Naturally Playful Front Porch Playhouse -  Michael loves this playhouse that I found a few years ago via a Facebook yardsale page.  If you have a bigger backyard than us, there are several ideas over on Pinterest on how to incorporate it in you landscaping.  We just have it sitting under our deck on our patio pavers so it doesn't kill the little grass that we have.

Little Tikes Jr. Jump 'n Slide Bouncer -  If you have the money and/or the space for a bouncy house this would probably be something worth investing in.

I'm sure there are so much more awesome outdoor toys, but these are the ones that Michael has or has some interest in.  What toys would you include in this list?

  1. Water tables are a MUST HAVE... or just fill a bucket with water. Whatever works. Lol. The kids ADORE them... hours of entertainment. I can cook dinner while my kids play with ours on the porch. We actually brought it out yesterday... happy mama

  3. Thanks a lot for this wonderful post! I was seeking similar gift ideas. Have been so busy for my cousin’s event at a venue NYC that didn’t get time to buy gifts for my kids last year. Going to make it up this year definitely.
