Our forth day of our Walt Disney World vacation back in December was spent at Animal Kingdom.  If you love animals, than this is the place for you.  It's like a big zoo with some amusement rides added in.

Before we went into the park, we met Rafiki.  His normal place to meet is at Rafiki's Planet Watch, but this day him and Chip & Dale were outside the entrance to the park.

The first thing we did was see It's Tough to be a Bug! which is inside the Tree of Life.  This was actually my first time seeing it understanding the story to it.  Yep, I had seen it two other times, but had never seen the movie that it's from.  If you want to make sure you understand rides and shows, I have a post about all the Movies you should watch before your Walt Disney World trip

We then went and rode Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.  Since Michael wasn't tall enough to ride, Mom stayed with him.  One thing that's great about Disney is that they do a rider swap.  We all had fast passes so when Jon and I went through we told them this and they gave us a rider swap so one of us could ride again with Mom.

We then rode Kali River Rapids, where Michael and I got wet.  Ok, I got soaked and since it was December, I never fully dried off from the ride.

In hopes to dry off, we went on the Wildlife Express Train.  It didn't work, but Michael enjoyed the train ride.  We then went and had lunch at Pizzafari.

We then went on the Kilimanjaro Safaris ride.  It's changed, I think for the better, from the last time that we were there.

Mom wanted to go and see the Festival of the Lion King, but we knew that Michael would probably not sit still to watch it.  So, we got this awesome family picture with the theater that it's in in the background.

While Mom was still at the show, we rode the ride DINOSAUR.  I'm not really sure if Michael liked the ride or not.

We also went and rode on TriceraTop Spin.

One thing that Jon and I absolutely loved at this park was the play area, The Boneyard.  Jon even got into all the fun of uncovering dinosaur bones in the sand.  They also had a pretty cool playground area.  We spent a fair amount of time there.

Before we left, we had to get a family picture with the Tree of Life in the background.  We headed back to the hotel so I could get a dry change of clothes and then head over to Hollywood Studios to finish up the park.

There are plenty of other things to do at Animal Kingdom, but we knew that at the time Micheal would not be that interested in it.  There were a few character meet ups that we did want to do, but with the way that our fast passes were setup and the meetup times we weren't able to fit them in.  I think the next time we go, Michael will be more interested in possibly exploring more and maybe become a Wilderness Explorer.  What do you love most about Animal Kingdom?
