Keeping it within the budget - Meal Plans and Grocery Trip for March 6th - 12th

meal plans and grocery trip, $50 weekly grocery budget,
Do you ever just feel that going grocery shopping is a never ending cycle?  Sometimes I just hate the idea of figuring out what to make for dinner for the upcoming week and then going shopping for all the food.  It just always seems like it would be easier to go out to eat all the time since I have, what seems like, the two pickiest people living with me.  Since we don't have a money tree in the backyard to just pick money off of, we have to cook at home.  Here's the plans for this week:
  1. Pizza Casserole
  2. Sloppy Joes
  3. pizza
  4. BBQ Chicken
Like every week, we started our grocery trip at Walmart.  Here's the list we had to work with:
  • Walmart's pizza (not pictured)  $6.98
  • 2L Coke (not pictured)  $1.48 on sale for $1.00
  • pizza sauce  $0.98
  • pancake mix  $3.12
  • Mickey cheese (not pictured)  $2.43
  • hamburger buns (not pictured)  $1.28
  • loaf of whole wheat bread (not pictured) $1.68
  • BBQ sauce  $2.98
  • cranapple  $3.98
  • Nesquick  $4.38
The total spent at Walmart was $29.53.  Not too bad to start our grocery trip.  Back home we went because Michael needed his nap.

When Michael woke up from his nap, we decided that we would eat at Wegmans before finishing our grocery shopping.  Another reason we love going to Wegmans.  They have so many different types of food to eat there.  Here's the list we had to work with:
  • gallon of whole milk  $3.29
  • OJ  $2.49
  • dozen eggs  $1.99
  • pepperoni  $2.49
  • green pepper  $0.86
  • onion  $0.60
  • lemons  $2.76
  • apples  $3.99
  • bananas  $0.98
  • gummies  $1.99
We spent a total of $21.98 at Wegmans.  We had a carry over of $10.00 which made this week budget $60.00.  The grand total spent was $51.51.  That makes us under budget by $8.49.  I also received $2.25 for the Walmart Effortless Pizza Family Meal (pizza and coke), $0.25 for the apples, and $0.25 for the milk purchases through Ibotta.  I also scanned our Walmart receipt into their Savings Catcher app, but received notification that their prices won.  How's your meal planning and budgeting going for you?
